We are living in the age of technologies . In this modern day every company , agency , banks, factories , brands , sports teams overall every commercial and non-commercial company requires a website for expanding their business in online. So there must be a huge want of web-designers . Web designing can be a good profession for anybody . But only good designers can be successful in this profession . We will explain how to be a professional web designer in this article .  

=) WHAT IS WEB-DESIGN?

You first need to know what is the actual web-design . When you are working as a web designer you will only design the visible part of a website . You will not build any kind of applications like login system , newsletter , search engine , members area etc . You work is to only design the template .  Now thought you have to build a car . If you are a designer than you just have to design the body of the car . It is not your task to develop the engine of the car . Now I think now it is quite clear that what is web design .

=) BUT WHY ONLY TO BE A WEB-DESIGNER? WHY NOT TO BE A DEVELOPER ALSO?

It is good question that why only to be a designer ? Why not developer? The answer is that if you are only a web-designer than you will find enough time to practice and can take your skills to a pro level . But if you are also a developer than you have to give more time to your works . So there will be not enough time to take your skills to the pro level . Then you will be familiar as an ordinary  web designer . There will be not enough value of your skills . Other reason is that it takes only 6-8 months to be a professional web-designer when if you want to be a web-developer also than it will take a plenty of years . The biggest reason is that a web designers earn more than developers .

Don't worry? I will tell you how to be a professional web-designer. As a web-designer you must have some skills . The skills you must have are listed below :

1)HTML, XHTML, HTML5.
2)CSS, CSS3.
3)Javascript, Jquery .
4)Photoshop .

That's it .Ops! I have heard this words first time besides Photoshop . Don't worry. I will  introduce this things . Okey ,Let's strat.

1)HTML : HTML stands for "Hyper Text Markup Language" .  This is a makup language . It is used to make the main structure of a webpage  like texts, images, videos, links, tables , buttons       
etc . 

2)XHTML : XHTML stands for "EXtensible HyperText Markup Language". XHTML is a stricter and cleaner version of HTML . It is recommended by W3C . It is more useful to use XHTML instead of HTML. But you must learn HTML in order to learn XHTML .

3)HTML5 : HTML5 is a updated version of HTML and XHTML . It has been introduced in 2008 . It is more interactive and dynamic . Now modern webpages are building with this language . 

4)CSS : CSS stands for "Cascading Style Sheet" . It is also a markup language . It used to arrange HTML contents . It is also used to change colors , fonts , background , height , width of HTML contents like texts, images, videos, links, tables , buttons etc . 

5)CSS3 : Like HTML5 CSS3 is a updater version of CSS . It has been introduced with more useful and interactive features .

7)JavaScript : JavaScript is a scripting language . It is used to add interactivity in a webpage like alerts , prompts , functions , rollovers , sliders , clock , events etc . Though it is a scripting language but it can not communicate with databases .

8)JQuery : JQuery is a Javascript library . It has a lot of built in functions of javascript . If you will use Jquery than you can save a lot of time when writing javascript scripts .

9)Photoshop : Photoshop is a familiar software for photo editing . You will need photoshop for resizing images , designing PSD templates .

=) Do you need to know all these following things listed?
Actually not . If you want to be a basic web-designer then you can learn only HTML , CSS and PHOTOSHOP . But if you want to be a professional web-designer than you can learn HTML , XHTML , CSS , JavaScript and photoshop . If you want to be a advanced web-designer than you can learn all these things .

Web-designers earns from $5000-$70000 per month . You can earn more by selling your design in online marketplaces .
